Using WordPress for the Internet or an Intranet

Hello Ryan, are you using Wordpress as an intranet solution?
If so, how many people are using the intranet? Which features are they using (doc sharing, media, …)? I am interested because a client asked for a simple solution which can be up and running within 2 weeks. I immediately thought of Wordpress. Then a search on Google pointed me towards this article.

hey - i’m a web developer for a major english newspaper in the middle east - i’m working on developing a case for a wordpress-based intranet for our organization in order to ease the many cultural barriers that arise at our company, as well as to share organization and limit the current e-mail overload.
are you aware of any case studies, or do you know of any organizations that have successfully deployed wordpress internally - what some of their challenges and successes are/were?
