This is just a short post to point out that with some excellent on site optimization and a blog that does some slight promoting has been enough to get the Legal Beagles site up to as high as 8th position (currently in 11th) in the SERP’s for the term “attorneys”. Another 2 sites that we will look into are ER - Africa and Surestone.

Why do I need a lawyer?
When you or your loved one suffer an injury as the result of somebody else’s action, perhaps it seems natural that the person would offer to compensate you for your injury, or that their insurance company will do the right thing and offer a fair settlement. Unfortunately, that rarely happens. Many people will not take responsibility for their actions, and insurance companies profit from under compensating injury victims. Insurance companies and their lawyers also know the governing law backwards and forwards, and they know that most non-lawyers have no idea what legal rights and remedies they possess. An experienced personal injury lawyer knows how to build your case, how to negotiate your case with an insurance company, and, if necessary, how to take your case to trial. While it is possible to negotiate your claim with an insurance company yourself, insurance companies will typically do everything they can to take advantage of you and to effect the lowest possible settlement, while attempting to elicit statements from you that will damage your position if you ultimately decide to sue.A lawyer is in a good position to help you obtain a favourable settlement that, even with the attorneys fee deducted, significantly exceeds what you can obtain on your own. Perhaps no other profession has as many variations in titles than that of attorneys. The titles attorney and lawyer are frequently used, sometimes interchangeably, in the field of law. However, by definition, each has a unique meaning.
Generally speaking, attorneys, or attorney-at-law, is a person who is a member of the legal profession. Attorneys are qualified and licensed to represent a client in court. By most definitions, attorneys may act on the client’s behalf and plead or defend a case in legal proceedings. The English word attorneys has French origins, where it meant “a person acting for another as an agent or deputy.”
A lawyer, by definition, is someone who is trained in the field of law and provides advice and aid on legal matters. Because a lawyer also conducts suits in court proceedings and represents clients in various legal instances, the term has expanded to overlap the definition of attorney. In many countries the terms attorneys and lawyers are normally considered synonyms.

A quick out-of-the box solution for small businesses and especially attorneys / law firms is using WordPress as an internet and an intranet solution. If you have heard of WordPress before then you might be asking yourself, Isn’t that a blog? Yes, it is a blog, but throughout it’s continued development it has become a nicely packaged content management system. With file sharing abilities, the ability to categorize information, add default front pages and more it is fast becoming the choice of many web developers. Best of all the WordPress software is free.
Other benefits of using WordPress is that you are able to use many of the plugins created by the community. These plugins enable your website to perform a number of tasks that would have only added more to the cost of developing a internet or an intranet solution for your company.
Another major benefit is that Search Engine Marketing becomes an easier to manage task.
These are just broad outlines as to why WordPress is a great solution for your attorneys / law firm. If you are interested to find out more information then please leave a comment at the end of this post with any questions you may have.

Just for a quick catchup session… Legal Beagles is a site that I recently registered to use as testing ground for SEO techniques and just about anything that is related to SEM.
After I completed the on-site SEO I decided to put some Google advertising on the site. Please see the bottom of my dummy attorneys website.
Everything was fine and then I decided to go have a look at the cached version of my site and was startled to find that the AdWords had been replaced by a banner advert (First time I have seen it on my site). Now I know Google has image ad formats but this particular one does not have the link at the bottom of the image that says “Feedback - Ads by Google”

Is it possible to have a picture on your blog that is actually a Google Ad but does not say so? If someone could provide any insight I would really appreciate it. Please post your thoughts in the comments.
